Four injured in crash involving car, shared bicycle in Martinborough

Four people on a shared bicycle have been injured, at least one critically, after a crash with a car in Martinborough this morning.

Police said the crash occurred on Puruatanga Rd, between Regent St and Todds Rd, at around 10.45am.

At least one person has been critically injured and was flown to hospital.

The other three have serious injuries.

"The driver of the vehicle is uninjured and is being spoken to by police," a spokesperson said.

"The serious crash unit has been notified and the road will likely remain closed for some time."

Motorists and members of the public are advised to avoid the area.
