Woman airlifted to hospital after shark attack in Sydney
A woman attacked by a shark at a quiet village beach in Australia has been airlifted to hospital with a serious leg injury.
Paramedics were called to Gunyah Beach at Bundeena, on the southern outskirts of Sydney, about 1.30pm today with reports a woman had been bitten by a shark.
The woman, believed to be in her 30s, was treated for significant leg injuries after she was carried out of the water.
She was airlifted to Sydney's St George Hospital in a serious condition, a NSW Ambulance spokesman said.
Bundeena is a small village surrounded by national park and fronting the Port Hacking River.

A tagged bull shark was detected by Shark Smart receivers in Cronulla, north of Bundeena, roughly four hours before the attack.
