Person critical after motorcycle crash near Christchurch

Emergency services are responding to a single-motorbike crash near Christchurch this afternoon.

Police said they were alerted to the incident on Akaroa Rd near Bayleys Rd, in Birdlings Flat, around 5pm.

One person is in a critical condition.

The serious crash unit has been advised.

The road is closed while emergency services work at the scene.

Motorists are advised to expect delays.
