Cordons in place after man critically injured in West Auckland

A man has been taken to hospital in a critical condition suffering what are believed to be stab wounds early on Friday in west Auckland.

Police said they were called about 2.15am on Coburg St, in Henderson following a report of disorder.

Officers and forensics have cordoned off the cul-de-sac at the end of the street.

Nearby Murillo Reserve is also cordoned off with some forensics staff focussing attention there.

A St John spokesperson said staff attended the incident and took one person to Auckland Hospital.
