Photos: Protesters clash with law enforcement in Los Angeles
Tensions escalated in Los Angeles as protesters demonstrated against US President Donald Trump's deployment of the National Guard.
The thousands-strong crowd blocked off a major freeway and vehicles were set on fire.
Local law enforcement used tear gas, rubber bullets and flash bangs to control the demonstrators.
Trump deployed the National Guard after protests erupted as federal immigration authorities arrested dozens of people across the city.

Trump deploying California National Guard amid anti-ICE protests
The White House said in a statement today that Trump was deploying the Guardsmen to “address the lawlessness that has been allowed to fester” in California.
