Police arrest 27-year-old in relation to Tūrangi homicide

A 27-year-old man has been arrested in relation to the ongoing homicide investigation in Tūrangi.

Emergency services were called to Hinerangi St early yesterday morning, where one person was found deceased.

Detective Inspector Craig Rawlinson said the man would appear in Rotorua District Court today charged with Breaching a Protection Order.

"Further charges are being considered," a police spokesperson said.

Police urged any witnesses to what occurred to come forward, and any CCTV or video footage as the investigation continued.

"A large police presence will remain in Tūrangi for the next few days as we piece together what happened."
